Washington, D.C. – Early on Friday, October 2, 2020, President Donald Trump announced he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement in response:

“Since the beginning of this pandemic we have learned that this virus knows no demographic. It does not differentiate between color, creed or geographic boundary. We have made remarkable progress in the treatment of symptomatic infections. While respecting the medical privacy of the president and first lady, we wish them well and look forward to their speedy recovery,” said Murphy.
