In announcing her forthcoming retirement to Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Imelda J. Pate, Beaman  acknowledged mixed emotions about leaving stating “I have worked with fellow court personnel and have  grown to respect, love and protect our court system and each person who has a role in keeping our court  system moving.”

“It has been an honor and joy to serve the citizens of Greene County in the court system for the past 36  years.”

Sandra Beaman began her career with the Greene County Clerk of Superior Court’s office May 28, 1985  when she was first appointed to serve as a deputy clerk of court by the late Honorable Joyce J. Harrell. In  2003 she was appointed as an assistant clerk by former Greene County Clerk of Superior Court Sandra B.  Sutton. Upon Sutton’s retirement in July 2014, Beaman filed for and was duly elected to become the Clerk  of Superior Court for Greene County in November of 2014. She has continuously served as the elected  Clerk of Superior Court for Greene County since November 2014.

Beaman further stated she was thankful for the honor to serve her neighbors in the community as the  elected Clerk. “Mostly I thank God for paving this path for me and allowing me to serve, through His  guidance, the citizens of Greene County.”

Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Imelda J. Pate will appoint a successor clerk prior to October 1, 2021.  The successor clerk will serve until a new clerk is elected by the citizens of Greene County in the November  2022 election.
