Raleigh, N.C. – Sen. Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) today announced the departure of his chief of staff, Brian Fork.

Fork has served as chief of staff since 2020. Fork joined Sen. Berger’s office in 2018 as general counsel. Prior to that, he was a partner at the law firms of K&L Gates and Brooks Pierce, where he practiced bankruptcy and business litigation.

Fork is leaving for an opportunity in the private sector with the Carolina Hurricanes organization.

“Brian has been a valuable asset on our team,” Sen. Berger said. “He has incredible instincts, an honest demeanor, and a natural drive that has steered the Pro Tem's office and the Senate in the right direction from day one. His ability to build trusting relationships with legislators and staff members in the General Assembly is a model for us all to emulate. He led by example and always kept his focus on what is best for the state. I wish Brian, Brooke, and their three children well in their next chapter.”

Fork attended Davidson College and the UNC School of Law.

Sen. Berger will announce a new chief of staff in the coming weeks.
