The General Assembly’s Economic Development Caucus will be continuing its work examining ways to boost the state’s efforts to recruit film and television projects in the new biennium, renewing its Film Industry Study Committee, originally founded in late 2023 for the 2024 short session, to focus on issues and opportunities facing the film industry in North Carolina.
RALEIGH, NC – Today, North Carolina Labor Commissioner Luke Farley issued the following statement after Governor Josh Stein signed House Bill 559 — the “Make Elevators Great Again” (MEGA) Act — into law:

(RALEIGH) Today Governor Stein provided updates on recent flooding in central North Carolina and urged North Carolinians to stay safe and be aware of ongoing flooding and road closures in their areas.
For decades, private foundations have served as catalysts for American values – independence, compassion, and community. From faith-based food banks to veteran support services, these local organizations are working every day to address needs that government programs cannot be expected to meet.
