BUTNER, N.C. -- Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) and U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie participated in the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Veterans Life Center in Butner on Saturday.
The Veterans Life Center is a 100+ bed residential facility designed to improve the lives of 21st Century North Carolina Veterans who are experiencing reintegration obstacles by providing temporary housing and services to achieve self-reliance two years or less. Senator Tillis advocated for the construction of the Veterans Life Center as Speaker of the North Carolina House and secured partial funding as U.S. Senator to build the facility.
