RALEIGH – Beginning this week, North Carolinians have fun, new lottery games to play called Fast Play where players can win a jackpot − or other prizes − instantly.
Fast Play games are the first new type of games offered by the N.C. Education Lottery in three years. They are the first lottery games ever to offer a chance to win a rolling jackpot instantly while also giving players the chance to win cash prizes instantly too.
Games are easy to play. There are no play slips to fill out or numbers to select, and no drawings to wait on. Players can see immediately if they won, using how to play information printed on each ticket.
Mark Michalko, executive director of the Education Lottery, said Fast Play games will help the lottery continue to increase its sales and raise additional money for education this year.
“Fast Play games are fun because on just one ticket you could win a jackpot instantly or other cash prizes,” said Michalko. “These exciting new games will raise additional money for our education programs during a time when they need all the extra support they can get.”
As the games begin, here are some key things to know:
- Fast Play tickets cost $2, $5 or $10.
- Jackpots start at $20,000. The jackpot grows with each ticket purchased until it is won.
- First games are: Lucky Clover, Classic Bingo, Rockin’ Bingo, and $2, $5, and $10 versions of Jackpot 7s.
- New games will appear every four months.
Odds of winning prizes vary depending on the type of game and its prize. The overall odds of winning a prize instantly range from 1 in 3.11 to 1 in 4. The odds of winning the Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 240,000.
