Governor Cooper encourages families to get vaccinated at Forsyth County
Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Secretary Mandy K. Cohen, M.D. visited and toured the family vaccination site at St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center in Forsyth County. The family vaccination site, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), offers vaccines for children ages 5 and up and adults.
USDA invests $446 thousand to improve housing for people in rural North Carolina
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the Department is investing $446 thousand to improve equitable access to housing for people who live and work in rural areas.
Governor Cooper appoints District Court Judge
Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Brad Salmon to serve as District Court Judge to Judicial District 11, which serves Johnston, Harnett and Lee counties. He will fill the vacant seat created by the retirement of the Honorable Caron H. Stewart.

Manufacturing company selects Wayne County for east coast expansion
Hosokawa Custom Processing Services, a contract chemical processor, will create 16 new jobs in Wayne County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $6.5 million to relocate a processing center to Goldsboro.

General Assembly releases N.C. budget plan, including input from Cooper
The N.C. General Assembly will begin votes Tuesday on the newly-released 2021-23 conference budget. The 2021-22 budget plan of $25.9 billion represents a 4.3% increase over the previous plan. The fiscal 2022-23 portion of the biennial plan is $27 billion, and the state’s rainy day fund grows to $4.25 billion by the end of the biennium.

Frozen food company to invest $5 million in Oxford
Meel Corp, a frozen food company, will create 24 new jobs in Granville County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $5.7 million to relocate a production facility in Oxford.
Governor Cooper grants pardon of innocence
Governor Roy Cooper granted a Pardon of Innocence for Montoyae Dontae Sharpe of Charlotte. Mr. Sharpe’s pardon application was thoroughly reviewed by the Office of Executive Clemency, the Office of the General Counsel and the Governor.
