Leader Reives Statement on Election Results and Long Session

“I could not be more proud of the hard work that helped us elect House Democrats in difficult districts across the state, even in spite of the headwinds from a disappointing outcome in the presidential election. The results from Tuesday’s election have shown us that Democrats can compete and win in North Carolina, but it will take a lot of effort. House Democrats have broken the supermajority and have a chance to uphold Governor-elect Stein’s vetoes of dangerous legislation. I am committed to continuing the fight next year and will seek another term as House Democratic Leader.”
