RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina voters had cast 733,299 accepted absentee and early ballots through Oct. 19, an increase of 201,059 ballots, or 37.8%, from the comparable point in the 2022 midterm election.
RALEIGH - The North Carolina State Board of Elections says administrative markings made by election workers do not disqualify ballots, countering a viral claim that resurfaced as in-person early voting began.
The N.C. State Board of Elections resolved disputed early-voting plans Thursday for 20 counties where local election boards were unable to reach unanimous agreements over voting locations, weekend schedules and other details of the November general election.
The Senate approved an amended election bill that would change early-voting periods, institute recurring county election audits and increase campaign-finance reporting thresholds.
