RALEIGH - Preliminary North Carolina State Board of Elections data show 3.1% of returned absentee-by-mail ballots in spoiled status at the current stage of the 2026 general election, up from 2.6% at the comparable point in 2022.
RALEIGH - The State Board of Elections says it will send letters this week to 1,392 registered voters flagged as potential noncitizens, while stressing that the notices do not cancel registrations or bar recipients from voting.
A unanimously approved Senate bill would extend the deadline for correcting certain absentee-ballot problems from three to five business days after an election.
