Governor Roy Cooper announced four judicial appointments to Superior and District Courts across the state.“These appointees bring years of legal experience and knowledge to the bench,” said Governor Cooper. “I’m confident that they will serve with dedication and fairness.”
The Family Accountability and Recovery Court (FARC) in Lenoir, Wayne, and Greene Counties has been selected as one of nine Rural Innovation Sites by the Rural Justice Collaborative (RJC) Advisory Council. These are the country’s most cutting edge rural justice programs that will serve as models for other communities. The RJC initiative will provide resources to enable other communities to replicate these Innovation Sites’ successes.
The Honorable Sandra E. Beaman, Greene County Clerk of Superior Court, has announced that she will retire on September 30, 2021. Beaman has served as the elected Clerk of Superior Court for Greene County since November 2014.
The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 11 grant requests to local governments totaling $3,702,500, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The requests include commitments to create a total of 486 jobs, 40 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $32 million in private investment.
