Passengers Take Advantage of Ocracoke Express Resuming
The passenger ferry between Hatteras and Ocracoke is proving to be a popular transportation option once again.
The service this year started July 3 and since that time, more than 1,000 people have used the Ocracoke Express passenger ferry.
The Ocracoke Express makes three daily round trips between Hatteras and the Silver Lake Terminal in Ocracoke Village and will continue through Sept. 10. For the full schedule, go to ncferry.org.
NC Zoo Engravings on Overpasses of Future Bypass
If you are driving through Randolph County in central North Carolina, make sure to be on the lookout for exotic creatures.
No, not live ones – but the NCDOT is teaming up with the North Carolina Zoo to highlight their most iconic animal, the elephant. These engravings can be seen on the overpasses of the new U.S. 64 Asheboro Bypass.
The bypass will provide better access to the North Carolina Zoo and is expected to be complete this fall.
