Hurricane Isaias makes landfall in Brunswick County

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. -- Hurricane Isaias came ashore as a deceptively powerful category one hurricane overnight.

Isaias officially made landfall in Ocean Isle Beach at 11:10 p.m. with 85 mph sustained winds. The storm generated a substantial storm surge on Brunswick County's beaches and spawned several tornadoes up and down the North Carolina coast.

A tornado took out these trees in the Old Town neighborhood in Belville (located in Brunswick County), but thankfully spared the house.
