Chief Justice Paul Newby continued a 100 county courthouse tour today during which he will visit Harnett, Johnston, and Lee counties. This is the second segment of the courthouse tour which started in Western North Carolina in May 2021.

Governor Cooper announces grants to rural communities to attract 820 new jobs and more than $264 million in private investment
The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 11 grant requests to local governments totaling $4,989,034, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The requests include commitments to create a total of 964 jobs, 144 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $264 million in private investment.
State to renew controversial ABC contract and increase liquor prices
The N.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission voted unanimously last week to recommend the state award a 10-year contract for warehouse services to LB&B Associates, the target of an audit in 2018 that has over the previous years cost the state about $13.5 million.
