Four senior members of Mark Robinson’s gubernatorial campaign have resigned following allegations that the North Carolina lieutenant governor made offensive posts on a pornographic website years ago. The resignations were confirmed by the campaign on Sunday, just weeks before the November election.
Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed February 21 - 25, 2022 as Public Schools Week to show support for public schools and the educators, counselors, custodians, bus drivers, school nutrition workers, administrators and other school staff who provide important learning experiences for students.
In response to actions taken by the Union County Board of Education, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services issued a letter to the Board’s Chair outlining required COVID-19 control measures all schools in the state must implement to protect student, staff and community health and noting that failure to comply may prompt legal action.
