Riggs on NC Supreme Court decision to deny petitioner for discretionary review

STATEMENT FROM JUSTICE ALLISON RIGGS ON NC SUPREME COURT DECISION TO DENY PETITION FOR DISCRETIONARY REVIEW

Raleigh, N.C. – Justice Allison Riggs shared the following statement after the Supreme Court of North Carolina denied the State Board of Elections petition for discretionary review, leaving Griffin’s challenges of more than 65,000 valid North Carolinian voters in the North Carolina Court of Appeals:

"No matter how long this drags out, I will continue to defend our state and federal Constitutions and North Carolinians’ fundamental freedoms. As constitutional officers, judges must respect the will of voters. My commitment to upholding the rule of law is why voters elected me to keep my seat more than 3 months ago.”
