JUSTICE ALLISON RIGGS’ STATEMENT ON FEB 7 WAKE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT HEARING IN GRIFFIN V. STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS

Raleigh, NC – Justice Allison Riggs issued the following statement following today’s hearing in Wake County Superior Court of Judge Jefferson Griffin’s baseless challenges of more than 65,00 North Carolinian voters.

“I’m grateful for the Wake County Superior Court’s time and careful consideration today, and I’m committed and honored to stand up for the rights of all North Carolinian voters, whether or not they voted for me.

Today, my counsel and counsel for the North Carolina State Board of Elections exposed Judge Griffin’s challenges for what they are–baseless attempts to overturn an election that he lost and and in doing so, undermine North Carolina voters’ fundamental freedoms.

I was honored to win my election more than three months ago, and I remain committed to upholding the rule of law and holding accountable any elected official who tries to disenfranchise voters,” said Justice Allison Riggs.
