Lt. Governor Dan Forest issues final statement

As I wind down the final days of serving as Lieutenant Governor, Alice and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the thousands of friends we have made across this great state. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve our state as Lieutenant Governor for the past eight years, and to run for Governor in 2020, perhaps the most unique political year of the modern age.

While the end of this chapter is bittersweet, I have no regrets looking back. We served honorably alongside a tremendous team of people. I believe we stood for righteousness and goodness for all the people of our state. And, I know for certain we never compromised our principles during eight years of service, even in the face of the toughest opposition one could imagine (I have the gray hair to prove it).

We had many highlights of accomplishments through the years that I will be forever proud of.

Alice and I look forward to continuing the friendships made while serving as Lt. Governor, as we move on to Chapter Three of life. We will continue to pray for you and ask that you do the same for us as we discover what our future holds outside of the world of politics. May God Bless you and the great state of North Carolina.
